A Work In Progress

Usually, the acronym WIP stands for work in progress, referring to any unfinished project that is actually still being worked on.  Like the Rainbow Stripe Throw pictured above, there are any number of them in my work space, awaiting my attention.

This week, however, it refers to the ever changing and evolving landscape that is my living room and work space.  I started sorting out my yarn stash, and my actual WIPs.  (Holy Hannah was THAT a project). The project rapidly devolved into moving furniture, dusting and adjusting shelves, shampooing carpet, ordering new curtains, slip covers and paint.  The living room will get an overhaul this summer, based on my assault of the space over the past week! It's gonna look great, but I digress.

A while back, I purchased this cabinet system on Amazon.  I love it,  it was so easy to put together, and it keeps my nosy cat out of my yarn. (That's Franklin in the picture below.)

I had set it up in my bedroom, but the space was rapidly becoming too crowded, so this week I decided to move it into the living room.  Of course, I couldn't just move it and leave it at that.  OHHH NO!  I had to empty it, move it, disassemble it, reconfigure it, and refill it.  All in one day.  Why you ask? Because I am an idiot.  A glutton for punishment who has no ability to quit while she's ahead.

So now, it's moved.  I sorted my work out and put each project into a XXL ziploc style baggie.  (5 for a buck at Dollar Tree.).

I've gotten just about that far, having cleaned and sorted both the cabinetry and the existing 9 hole set of cubbies that was in the living room.  No, there are no bins.  Why?  Franklin. (see photo above)

The next project will be to relocate my desk to the work space.  As soon as I finish arranging the furniture and figure out where to move the treadmill to.  Maybe the dining room, since we don't have a table.  I really need another room or two added on to this house. Anyone want to build me a gym and a craft room?

In the midst of all this chaos, I still managed to do the actual work.  Sadly, this has resulted in 5 additional WIPs that are awaiting the arrival of additional supplies in order to complete.  I also sorted out materials to actually finish some of the existing WIPs and get them shipped, so it wasn't a total loss!

Keep your fingers crossed!  Here's hoping that next week sees more of this sorted , stored, or donated.  I'm reclaiming my work space, increasing the flow of creative energy, and in general getting things out of my house that don't feed my soul in some way.  How about you? What's your work in progress this week?  Comment and show pix below!
